Who we are and how we write
Bacteriostatic Water US is a US storefront and reference library for PureBac bacteriostatic water (0.9% benzyl alcohol), shipped from Tampa, Florida. This page explains who is behind the site, where the information in our guides comes from, and how to tell us when we get something wrong.
Who runs this site
The site sells PureBac vials and kits. Orders are completed on purebac.com, and the links to it from this site carry a referral code. We say this up front because it is the context for everything else here: we have a commercial interest in bacteriostatic water, so the guides are held to a sourcing standard that lets you check every claim without having to trust us.
Guides are published under the name of the PureBac team that prepared them. The site carries no third-party advertising.
Editorial standards
- Primary sources first. Facts come from the FDA-approved product labels on DailyMed, USP monographs and general chapters, FDA and CDC guidance, and peer-reviewed papers indexed in PubMed. Other retailers' pages are not used as sources for facts.
- Every checkable claim is cited. Numbered markers in the text link to a reference list at the foot of each guide, and each reference links straight to the source document.
- Citations are checked against the source. Each claim and the source cited for it are re-checked to confirm the source actually says what we attribute to it. Sources that cannot be opened are not counted as support, and doubtful pairs are reviewed by a person.
- No number without a source. If a price, date, statistic or lot detail cannot be verified, it is left out. Prices from other sellers are dated and name where they were seen.
- Dates are real. Each guide shows when it was last updated, and the date changes only when the content does.
Expert quotes
Some guides quote pharmacists, physicians, researchers and regulators. We only quote named people whose credentials are stated by the source, word for word, with a link to where they said it. Before a quote is published it is checked against the original post, article or paper. A quote is shown as that person's view. It does not mean they endorse this site or its products.
Images and data graphics
Photos that are generated or staged for a guide carry an “Illustration” label. They show general equipment and settings, never a real product label or a real person. Charts and infographics are drawn from the figures in the guide's cited sources, and the source is named under each one.
What our guides do not do
- They do not give dosing advice for people. FDA-approved bacteriostatic water is labeled Rx only, and any drug you inject should be prescribed and supervised by a licensed clinician.
- They do not claim that PureBac is FDA-approved or carries an NDC. Where we compare products, we compare on facts you can check.
- They are general information, not medical advice.
Corrections
If you find an error, a broken link or a source that does not support what we wrote, email [email protected] with the page and the passage. We check every report against the source, correct the guide when we are wrong, and update its date.
